Clinical Hypnotherapy | Regression | Structured Experiential Analysis
About Jonathan Yorks
Jonathan Yorks is the creator of Structured Experiential Analysis (S.E.A.), a Signal-Based, Multi-Layer Transformation Model, and a practitioner of Clinical Hypnotherapy and Regression. His work is grounded in longstanding clinical, hypnotic, and regression-based training.
His practice is psychologically grounded, methodologically disciplined, and interpretively careful, integrating clinical hypnosis and regression inquiry without relying on generic self-improvement, formulaic hypnotherapy, coaching frameworks, or predetermined spiritual interpretations.
Across both clinical and exploratory work, the central focus is on how experience becomes organized, what maintains that organization, and how meaningful change or deeper inquiry can occur beneath ordinary conscious awareness.
Practicing in Newton, Massachusetts since 2005, with in-person sessions for individuals in Boston and the surrounding areas and online sessions available when appropriate.
The Basis of the Work
This practice developed through the convergence of clinical training in psychotherapy, formal training in hypnosis, longstanding work in regression, and a sustained interest in the deeper structures that organize human experience.
The work is psychologically grounded, methodologically disciplined, and interpretively careful. Rather than beginning with predetermined conclusions about what an experience means, it begins with close attention to pattern, emotional organization, internal logic, and the processes operating beneath ordinary conscious awareness.
This foundation shapes both primary domains of the practice. In Clinical Hypnotherapy, the focus is on the patterns that organize present-life distress, limitation, and repetitive responses. In Regression & Life Exploration, the inquiry may extend into therapeutic, existential, or spiritual dimensions while maintaining careful structure, containment, and interpretive restraint.
Two Clear Pathways
Begin with the Right Entry Point
The practice is organized around two primary pathways: Clinical Hypnotherapy for structured work with present-life difficulties, and Regression & Life Exploration for deeper exploratory inquiry. Which pathway fits best depends on what you are seeking.

Professional Formation
Jonathan Yorks’ professional formation includes extensive training in psychotherapy, hypnosis, and regression developed across decades of clinical and exploratory work.
His background includes graduate training in psychotherapy and licensure as a Marriage & Family Therapist in California, with foundations in ego psychology and systems psychology. This contributed an early emphasis on structure: how emotional experience is organized, how relational patterns are maintained, how identity develops, and how presenting difficulties may reflect deeper internal patterns rather than isolated symptoms.
That structural orientation remains central to his work. It informs how assessment is approached, how patterns are understood, and how clinical and exploratory material is interpreted and integrated.
Clinical Hypnosis and Regression Lineage
The work is also shaped by a longstanding clinical hypnosis and regression lineage.
Jonathan Yorks received clinical hypnosis training during his graduate studies with Melba Finkelstein, a direct disciple of Milton Erickson. This established an early foundation in hypnosis as a precise, responsive clinical modality rather than a formulaic technique. He is also certified as a Clinical Hypnotherapist through the National Guild of Hypnotists.
His regression training began with Master Hypnotist Burt Corliss from 1994 to 1996. In 2005, he became certified through The Newton Institute for Life Between Lives Hypnotherapy, later known as the Michael Newton Institute.
This lineage informs the way hypnosis and regression are approached throughout the practice: with structure, containment, responsiveness to the individual, and careful attention to the meaning and organization of the material that emerges.
Beyond Private Practice
Jonathan Yorks’ work has extended beyond private practice into teaching, professional service, and publication. He has served as adjunct faculty at California State University, Bakersfield, teaching psychology students in areas including the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual and case management. His involvement with The Newton Institute has included roles in organizational leadership, membership, training, and practitioner development.
His published and public-facing work includes a contribution to Memories of the Afterlife, articles written for The Newton Institute, presentations at conferences on afterlife-memory and regression-related work, and the 12-episode Past Life Regression Radio Show, originally broadcast live on Facebook and now archived on YouTube. Together, these activities reflect a longstanding engagement with clinical education, hypnosis and regression practice, and the communication of ideas beyond private practice.
From Formation to Method
Across these lines of training, practice, teaching, and inquiry, a consistent question has remained: how are patterns of human experience learned, organized, maintained, and changed? Structured Experiential Analysis (S.E.A.) developed from that convergence. It reflects a view of the human system as a developmental, adaptive, learning system designed for change, providing a structured way to identify the signals and patterns that maintain difficulty and direct treatment toward meaningful transformation.
